CAL QUIM Farm, Catalonian Donkey
The Path Taken
Our donkeys have been bred from various Catalonian Donkeys which originated from the Aragonese Pyrenees and were mated with MESACHE (1994), the last High Aragonese stud of known origin.
After the death of MESACHE, new blood was injected into our small herd through the services of OKU (of military fame), and then by MIQUELET, purchased from AFRAC. Additionally, great improvements in the blood line have been achieved with the services SANSON III, the son of OKU.
These days, the herd consists of 12 fertile mares, including some of the original stock, like ORDESA, several daughters of MESACHE, namely TENSINA II, YOSA and CINCA, and daughters of SANSON III, such as DAPHNE and NINA. The current standing stud animal is MIQUELET (RAC04M0259).
